Casting pieces of the sculpt

Once the sculpting was completed on the face cast it was decided that the front of the sculpt was to become a flat mould, and snap mould made of the mouth and nose. Three attempts were made of the mouth and nose to get the correct shape. The first two attempts where slanted and not an accurate mould,(figure 1,2,3,4) this was due to the fact that alginate was only applied without any other support to hold the shape of the nose and mouth. On attempt 3 the makeup artist (MUA) added mod rock onto of the alginate to help hold the shape. (figure 5).
