Evaluation of image 1

Image 1 is intended to follow traditional images of the Green Man, drawing on common imagery of green foliage around a man’s face and blending into the facial features. The design of Image 1 for the final project blends the figure of the Green Man into the surrounding greenery and ivy. While creating the final image (figure 1, 2, 3) there were problems with colour matching the shades on the face and prosthetics pieces to the wig frame around the face. On reflection the green is slightly off, and looking back I would apply less dark shadows around the leaf beard, as in the image it looks too harsh and doesn’t seamlessly blend into the skin. If I was to recreate this image, I would have done a prosthetics trial with foam latex to see if it would have produced a more realistic look to the leaves. To colour the silicone fully, air brushing was first applied, followed by grease paint colour and shadow. Silicone is quite difficult to colour to a good standard and in the trial and errors the colouring ended up being patchy, so for the final images I used different layers of paint to build the colour. Overall I am happy with the result of the final images, but on evaluation there are details that I would correct and improve upon next time.
