Image 3 is inspirational by the Green Woman tarot card from the Wildwood deck (figure 1). The final image of this design was more successful in comparison to the trials, as it achieved the illusion of making the image look like a card but without appearing like a cartoon. The photography and lighting used for the final shoot brought the whole look together completely, using snoot lights and gels to create the depth and colour needed against the model (figure 2, 3, 4). If this image was to be created again in the future there are slight improvements that could be made. As the lighting used had to be harsh to create contrasting shadows, slight brush strokes can be seen on the body when they needed to be fully blended. The eyes were also not symmetrical enough, and they could have been darker with highlights added to make them stand out more. The trial and errors were an important part of the process as the look was originally inspired by just a photo. In the industry it is important to keep practicing looks and doing trials before the completion of any final image, as it is important to learn from any mistakes and identify improvements for future work. As a makeup artist, constant reflection on your work is always needed to ensure it is done to a high standard.
