For image 1 a total of two trials were conducted before the completion of the final image, which was to ensure the right materials were used and to see if any tweaks were needed. For the first attempt (figure 1), the purpose of the trial was colour matching and to see if the prosthetic blended into the frame around the head. Following the first trial, a lot of improvement was needed to the application of the flat mould. This was due to the fact that the prosthetic was a gelatine piece instead of silicone, and it was harder to blend the water activated paints on top of the piece. In the second trial (figure 2) these improvements were made so that the prosthetic blended better into the skin and the colouring matched the frame around the head. In addition, tweaks were added to create a variety of colours on the leaves as some of the shadows around the leaves were dark and looked too artificial.
